President Asif Ali Zardari has reportedly decided on May 11 as the date for holding the general elections 2013, Express News reported on Tuesday.
But, since Chief Minister Punjab Shahbaz Sharif has not given a date for the dissolution of Punjab Assembly, it is uncertain whether polls for the Punjab Assembly will also be held on the same day.
Earlier, the four chief ministers of the country had reached consensus over holding general elections across the country on the same day.
The Election Commission of Pakistan had submitted a tentative schedule to the government, with proposals for holding elections between May 6 and 9.
The ministers also decided to dissolve the provincial and national assemblies at the same time. However, Shahbaz Sharif later denied the reports that he had agreed to dissolve the assembly on March 19.

A bit of statistics for PPP and Nooras, Total votes PPP received in 2008 was a bit more than 1 crore. PMLN got .67 crore. Today the total number of simply registered members of PTI is more than 1 crore. Countless others await for voting, 4 crore voter is newly registered mostly under the age of 45 and seeing as the strength of the PTI is the youth this election will be a disaster for the other parties of epic proportions. Inshallah.

Mian Shehbaz Sharif has done a wonderful job. Not only his government should complete each day of its term, as a reward of great performance, its tenure should be extended to one more year. If failed governments of KP, Sindh and Baluchistan, as well as Centre can get full five years, treating Punjab in the same manner is punishing the success.
Why of all dates 5/11 (May 11) ? Auspicious or ominous?
Frankly I don't see hope in this democracy what has 5 yrs given to me hopelessness, insecurity and despair. Innocents are martyred and goons are set free. As for Mr Khan he cant bring any change when he has old timers who move around in parties while i cant get it why doesn't he condemn terrorism. I would welcome a Bangladesh model for min. 2 years as frankly i would prefer that a poor man gets a loaf of bread on his table to feed his family no matter what system of governance it is. Look it took more then 200 yrs after Declaration of Independence for US to be a democracy, it took more then 500 yrs after Mughal or Raj eras for India to be a great democracy don't expect Pakistan with its massive illiteracy rate try to be one in mere 65 yrs.
Where PTI and other idiots are saying PMLN should dissolve Punjab govt? They are elected representative and they have all the right to complete their term. I being a resident of Punjab and a voter of PMLN, want them to continue and complete their term for the good of people of Punjab.

PML-N does not want Imran Khan to stage the 23rd march jalsa and be the success that it is destined to be. They will dissolve the govt on the 24th just so they can malign PTI.

Shahbaz Sharif will dissolve Punjab Assembly after National assembly because he has already started no loadshedding policy in Punjab to show that when PPP is gone there is no loadshedding.
