PESHAWAR: Former chief justice Peshawar High Court Tariq Parvez was named as Khyber-Pakhtunkhwa’s caretaker chief minister on Friday, Express News reported.

The decision was announced during a joint press conference in Peshawar by K-P Chief Minister Ameer Haider Khan Hoti and K-P Assembly’s Opposition Leader Akram Khan Durrani.

While speaking to media, Hoti said that the decision - made by consensus - was based on merit.

The provincial chief minister said that he wants to have an effective interim setup which can ensure transparent elections.

Durrani, during the press conference, said all parties have their own agendas but the need of the hour is to think in favour of the people.

Hoti would advice the governor regarding the dissolution of the K-P Assembly on Saturday.

Former chief justice, who was named the caretaker CM of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, would take oath as the interim CM on Sunday.

Abdullah khan | 11 years ago | Reply Good decision but interesting one for me also,Parvez name is not only lucky but Favorite name of Pakistani politicians because this name was selected by Nawaz sharif for COAS ,and than he ruled the country , and follow by Zardari when his prime minister Gillani was disqualified by SC ,it was very critical time but Parvez Asharf retain his seat and completed his tenure which he himself not sure to carrying to the End. And other aspect of this name shows the two faces of JUI molla. The molla says to people don't give the name of parvez for their children because Parvez was the name of Murtad and Enemy of holy messenger S A W and now choose Parvez name for CM and they are happy that they done well ,this name is a perfect name.
