Labour Courts: Judges to hear cases in other districts

Presiding officers of the labour courts have been asked to undertake tours in the districts of their jurisdiction.

Lahore High Court Chief Justice Umar Ata Bandial on Wednesday directed the judges of Punjab labour courts to hear cases in their respective districts.


According to a notification issued to this effect, presiding officers of the labour courts have been asked to undertake tours in the districts of their jurisdiction at least once a week.

The courts have been established in Lahore, Sahiwal, Gujranwala, Rawalpindi, Sargodha, Faisalabad, Bahawalpur, Multan and Dera Ghazi Khan.

Labour courts in the province have been functioning at divisional headquarters but people from far away places have had to face inconvenience, according to the notification.
