Squash: Championship begins in Karachi today

Amir Atlas Khan has been seeded number one among the boys category.

KARACHI: The first DHA International Squash Championship will explode into action today with some of Pakistan’s top players taking part in the $12000 event which is scheduled to be played till March 15 here at the Asif Nawaz Squash Complex. Amir Atlas Khan, who will face Karamatullah Khan in his opening encounter, has been seeded number one among the boys category while Zoya Khalid – top-seed among girls – will lock horns with Faiza Zafar. The qualifiers who have made it to the main round among boys are Syed Hamza Bukhari, Nosherwan Khan, Muhamamd Shoaib Hassan and Tayyab Aslam. Meanwhile among girls, Habiba Khan, Madina Zafar, Ayesha Zafar and Tahreema Islam won their qualifiers to go through into the main event.
