KARACHI: Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) issued a notification on Wednesday barring the Sindh government from using newspaper advertisements praising its own performance.

According to the notification, the provincial government has been using comments from public figures, celebrities and artists to praise itself.

This is in violation of ECP’s directive issued on January 4 that prohibits government from using electronic and print media advertisements to promote any political party, it added.
