Breast Cancer is a frequent malignancy among women in Pakistan and makes up 25 per cent of all cancers registered among them.

This was stated by Dr Chandra Madhu Das, consultant and assistant professor of gynecology at the Liaquat University of Medical Sciences, on Friday.

She said that global statistics show that after lung cancer, breast cancer is the second most fatal type of the disease.

Abnormal development of cells leads to the growth of tumour, which when malignant in nature are termed as cancer.

Chances of breast cancer increase with age and the disease is not only common in men, added the professor.
