Arts And Literature: France’s knighthood to Ameena Saiyid

Ameena Saiyid was awarded the Knighthood of the Order of Arts and Letters on Friday by the Ambassador of France.

Managing Director Oxford University Press Pakistan, Ameena Saiyid was awarded the Knighthood of the Order of Arts and Letters on Friday by the Ambassador of France in Pakistan, Philippe Thiebaud.

This award distinguishes personalities who have through arts or literature, contributed to the promotion of culture in France or in the world.

Ameena Saiyid’s commitment to the quality of the publishing sector in Pakistan and her consistent engagement in favour of education, development and dialogue puts her at the forefront of the promotion of Pakistani and global culture, said an embassy press release.

French institutions in Pakistan are a sponsor of Karachi Literature Festival, held annually by Oxford University Press since 2010.
