Charsadda: Shrine’s caretaker gunned down

The culprits escaped after the incident after killing 70-year-old caretaker.

SHABQADAR: The caretaker of a shrine in Prang area of Charsadda district was shot dead by unidentified gunmen on Saturday evening.

Inspector Ijaz Khan of Prang police said two armed men barged into the Prang graveyard and approached Latifistan Makan Mazar where the 70-year-old caretaker, identified as Bashir Bacha, was busy working. They opened fire at him, killing him on the spot. When Bashir’s colleague, Abu Saeed rushed to help him, the gunmen shot him as well, injuring him. The culprits escaped after the incident. Police reached the site and with the help of locals, shifted the injured to a hospital in Peshawar. Inspector Ijaz said the deceased had no personal enmity.
