One of three bodies belonging to security personnel buried in an avalanche earlier this week was recovered during rescue work on Saturday.

An avalanche hit the Sro Gulono check post in the Bin Shahi area near the Pak-Afghan border at 2pm on Monday. Nizam, Arif and Allah Baksh of the 33 Baloch Unit were buried as a result.

According to a security force official, rescue work started immediately and on Saturday the body of Allah Baksh was found buried beneath tonnes of snow.

He added that the deteriorating weather conditions and heavy snowfall were creating hurdles in the search operation.

On December 28, 2012, two paramilitary officials and a civilian were buried under an avalanche in the Bin Shahi area. The civilian was rescued, but the bodies of the officials were recovered a day later.
