Quaid Trophy: Farhat continues impressive run with 308

Imran Farhat played his career-best knock in first-class cricket by accumulating 308 runs to help Lahore Ravi post a daunting total against Peshawar on day two of their Quaid-e-Azam Trophy round seven match at the LCCA Ground yesterday.


Farhat smashed 50 boundaries as Ravi went on to declare their innings on 512 for six after resuming the day on 254 for three. In reply, Peshawar were 12 for one at the close of play.

In another Group-I match, Shoaib Maqsood hit an unbeaten 107 to enable hosts Multan take a first-innings lead against Sialkot as they ended the proceedings on 233 for three while replying to 189 at the Multan Stadium.

Meanwhile, half-centuries from Khurram Manzoor (79), Javed Mansoor (76) and Fakhar Zaman (73) propelled Karachi Blues, who were 340 for eight in 77 overs, to a solid 143-run first-innings lead against hosts Islamabad.

In group-II, off-spinner Atif Maqbool continued to nudge the selectors with his impressive performances as his five-for guided Karachi Whites to a 149-run first-innings lead against Faisalabad at the Mirpur Cricket Stadium.

In another match, Lahore Shalimar declared their innings on 346 for nines to end with a 243-run first-innings lead against Hyderabad, who were at 59 for no loss at stumps in their second innings, at the Gaddafi Stadium.

Meanwhile, Bahawalpur were struggling at 159 for four at the close of play against Rawalpindi, who made 404 for seven in their first-innings.
