'Agreed game': Imran Khan rejects Asma Jahangir’s name for caretaker PM
If Jahangir is named the caretaker PM, PTI would hold the biggest protest in the country's history, warns Imran.

LAHORE: Pakistan Tehreek-i-Insaf (PTI) chairman Imran Khan categorically rejected Asma Jahangir’s name for the post of caretaker prime minister, claiming that she carried conflicted views about the Supreme Court and enjoyed political attachment with the ruling government.
Imran, addressing a press conference in Lahore on Monday, maintained that the caretaker prime minister should be an impartial and honest person who respects the apex court.
“The candidate must be impartial, honest and should pay due respect to the SC and should avoid inking any agreement on which the successive government would face embarrassment,” he said, adding that only free and fair elections can save the country from any future debacle.
Imran claimed that Jahangir had political affiliations with the Pakistan Peoples Party (PPP) and has issued statements against the PTI as well. He declared her nomination for the post of caretaker PM as an “agreed game” between the PPP and Pakistan Muslim League – Nawaz (PML-N).
“Jahangir’s nomination is tantamount to the fact that the government is not sincere in holding free and fair elections and if government elevates her, PTI would hold the biggest protest in the country’s history over nomination of an impartial person,” Imran stated.

I was a PTI member until the morning and now I am no longer a member of PTI. Imran Khan thanks with no thanks but I am now ashamed to even be affiliated with PTI anymore. The dirty campaign against Asma Jehangir by PTI and calling her Non Muslim and foreign agent on facebook and other social forums is unbearable for me and sorry but your party cannot bring change at all rather i think PTI is a Fascist Organization.Recommend
Imran Khan what is wrong with you.?. I appreciate PMLN to nominate Asma among 6 members and i was not expecting such a decision by PTI at all. She is the only lady who stood for the Balochs and even she always stood for tribal people and she is the most courageous lady of Pakistan. Regarding to the religious background of Asma i dont care as some PTI members are telling me as for the people like it is not the religion but the Performance that matters only.

Some say that one problem with Imran Khan is that he is getting bit isolated? I think he is taking a big gamble. He is trying to create a field where rest of the parties will be playing against Imran Khan’s PTI. Will he be able to arrange such a fixture, time will tell. Because if he is able to picture that into the voters mind, than it will be crunch of a match and we all know that our Skipper performs well under pressure and leads from the front.

If Imran Khan has objection on Asma Jehangir, than some other political leader may be having objection on some other prospective caretaker Prime Minister.

Maulana Fazal-ur-Rehman may be having some other name of the caretaker Prime Minister in the mind.
Let me remind that caretaker Prime Minister will be for an interim period and not for another five years, unless the political situation in the country comes to a point where the country due to difference of opinion among the political leaders, it should become necessary to install a technocrat government without holding elections in the country.

Interesting. First it was Mr Hafiz Saeed rejecting her name in his recently held TV interview and now its Mr Imran Khan. Mr Saeed rejected her because of being woman and secular and Mr Khan is rejecting her because of independent views and party affiliation. It seems Pakistani army is against Ms Jahangir. Ultimately the caretaker PM will be the one stamped by Pak army and Supreme court. Will other political parties agree to that? Indications of a political storm it seems.

The PM would be for a few weeks or couple of months. What role does the SC have with that? Why would IK even bring in the SC? Everybody knows CJ is in for himself and wants to be the next president and his alliances with the rightwing parties are no secret.

Had PPP and PML(N) held consultations with all political parties for the nomination of caretaker PM after passing the 20th amendment to the constitution by the parliament, the consensus would have been easily arrived. But the ruling coalition and the main opposition party made it an issue arranged bout (Noora Khushti). Hence, it is quite difficult to choose a candidate for the slot of caretaker PM acceptable to all political parties.

This is insane! All you haters being paid by PML N, please for the love of God get a proper job. Your current employment will not only hurt your future chances of finding meaningful work but also hurt the country.
Who is Asma Jahangir and how has she got more integrity than Imran Khan? Has she built and run a large cancer hospital, has she started a free university in a village? Has she done anything worthwhile on the world stage like winning the world cup?
And what about the progressive and evolving policies of PML N? Where did the money from Karz utaro mulk sawaro go? Atleast when you donate money to Imran, you know it will be spent wisely on the people!
What about the “loans” that Mian sahab received from banks and General Aslam Baig? What about the monies that they transferred out of Pakistan a day before they stopped ordinary Pakistanis from doing so? Un lutaroon ka fair trial hona chahiyay and then if it is proved beyond doubt that they took money from the people they should be publicly hanged!
