Eid Miladun Nabi: Twin cities adorned with colour

All is set to celebrate Eid Miladun Nabi today (Friday) with religious zeal and fervor across the city.


All the buildings (governmental and semi-governmental), shopping malls, plazas, schools and mosques have been decorated with green buntings, coloured-bulbs and huge portraits of Masjid-e-Nabvi to mark the festivities in connection with the birthday of the Holy Prophet (PBUH).

The milaad committees of various areas have chalked out a number of programmes such as Naat competitions and Mehfil-e-Darood to pay homage to the Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

According to the programme chalked out, a main procession of Eid Miladun Nabi will be taken out from the city while two processions will be carried out from Cantonment area.

The main procession will be taken out under the supervision of Markazi Millad Committee and Markazi Seerat Committee -- led by caretaker Eid Gah Sharif Pir Muhammad Naqibur Rehman with participation of legislators and people from different walks of life.

The procession will start at 9am in the morning from Markazi Jamia Masjid Hanfia which after passing from Jamia Masjid Kohati Bazar, Benazir Bhutto Road, Committee Chowk, Iqbal Road, Liaquat Road, Fawara Chowk, Raja Bazaar would end at its starting point.

The routes of the processions have been decorated with buntings, lights and with most eye-catching models of Majid-e-Nabvi and Khana-e-Kaba installed at Jamia Masjid Road.



The other two processions will be started from Chungi Number 22 and Ghausia Haveli, Girja Road at 9:30am and will pass through Tench Bhata, Mughalabad, Ali Road, Abid Majid Road, RA Bazaar, Kashmir Road, GPO Chow and Bank Road. Sabeels (stalls) will also be set up across the city to provide sweet water and charity food to the citizens.

Similarly, small and big processions of Eid Miladun Nabi will also be taken out from Dhama Syedan, Morgah, Kalyal, Adyala Road, Dhamial, Hayyal and Chakri Road.

Display of all kinds of weapons and fireworks have also been banned by the DCO Saqib Zafar and in case of violation criminal cases would be filed against the violators.

Separately, Resque 1122 management chalked their plan to meet any kind of emergency on Friday.

Meanwhile, the federal capital will also be all bright and shiny on the night of January 25, as part of the celebrations of the birth of Prophet Muhammad (PBUH).

Chairman CDA Syed Tahir Shahbaz has directed CDA’s engineering wing to illuminate the landmark buildings under the administrative control of the civic agency on the occasion. These buildings include the Parliament House, Cabinet Block and the Prime Minister Secretariat building among others.

The CDA has formed teams to oversee the arrangements and monitoring the illumination of the buildings. The sanitation directorate has also been directed to ensure the cleanliness of the city on this occasion. Shahbaz also called upon the residents of the capital to participate in the celebrations and pray for the solidarity of the nation and prosperity of the country.
