US president Barack Obama’s second inauguration weekend may have featured performances by stars such as Beyonce, Kelly Clarkson, James Taylor, Katy Perry and Usher but for Obama, the cherry on top was something more special — the First Lady got bangs.

His official swearing-in and inaugural address to hundreds of thousands of guests at the US Capitol also went pale in front of Michelle Obama’s new look. “First of all, I love Michelle Obama. And to address the most significant event of this weekend, I love her bangs,” the newly inaugurated Commander-in-Chief joked a day before his public oath to office, according to usmagazine.com.

“She looks good. She always looks good,” he added, amid laughs from the crowd. The First Lady looked chic in a navy-blue Thom Browne collarless dress coat with fuschia gloves, J Crew shoes and a bejewelled J Crew belt.

“She’s such a strong woman,” Browne told the New York Times in a recent interview about his design. “I wanted her to feel good in it — to feel comfortable, strong, feminine and beautiful.”
