KARACHI: NBP received a walk-over from Afghan FC in the Pakistan Premier Football League (PPFL) match in Karachi after the opponents failed to turn up.

A match official said the team showed reluctance in visiting Karachi due to the lack of funds to bear the travel expenses.

“They did not contact the organisers on the day of the match,” the official told The Express Tribune.  “But the Afghan FC officials had said that it would be difficult for them to arrange funds for the visit.”

Meanwhile, KPT played out a goalless draw with Army at the KPT Football Stadium. Army dominated the match but KPT showed solid defence. Defender Akhtar Mamool was declared man-of-the-match. Even though there was no goal, there was plenty of foul-play from both sides, with two KPT players and one from Army being cautioned with yellow cards.
