Islamic banking: Speakers stress awareness among the masses

Azeem says that the Islamic banking is a step towards a development that must be encouraged.

Speakers at a seminar stressed the need to create awareness among the masses about the Islamic banking, which is functioning in 75 countries of the globe and as many as 9,641 branches of Islamic banks are operating in Pakistan.


The seminar titled ‘Significance of Islamic banking in Pakistan’ was arranged by College of Commerce, Government College University Faisalabad.

Dean Faculty of Art and Social Sciences Pervez Azeem said that the Islamic banking was gaining popularity across the globe. He said that the Islamic banking was a step towards a development that must be encouraged.

College Principal Dr Nadeem Sohail said that the State Bank of Pakistan was taking tangible steps for promotion of Islamic banking in the country.
