PESHAWAR:

Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) chief Imran Khan on Tuesday said that all parties need to be consulted in the creation of a caretaker government.

Imran threatened to protest if a neutral interim government was not formed.

He was talking to reporters after expressing condolences on the death of former Jamaat-e- Islami chief, Qazi Hussain Ahmad, whom he called a friend and committed politician who served the nation well.

Replying to a question regarding PTI’s participation in Tahirul Qadri’s long march towards Islamabad on January 14, Khan said that his party agrees with Qadri’s stance but would not take part in the march.

He said, the only solution to the current crisis is to hold free and fair general elections in the country but that could only be made possible with a neutral caretaker government. He added that the Election Commission of Pakistan could only work independently under an impartial interim government.

“Time has proved that the decision of All Pakistan Democratic Alliance to boycott the 2008 general elections was correct in view of the rampant corruption of the present government,” he maintained.

On the occasion, he also accused the lawmakers of tax evasion and corruption without mentioning names, saying that if the current government remained in power it will further darken the future of the nation.

Later, PTI chairman also visited the residence of Railways Minister Ghulam Ahmed Bilour to offer condolence on the demise of his brother Bashir Ahmad Bilour.
