LAHORE:

Punjab Governor Makhdoom Ahmed Mehmood said on Sunday that he will play a due role in the formation of a caretaker set-up, and will also create harmony among all political parties.

Although article 224-A of the Constitution does not mention the role of the governor in the installation of a caretaker set-up, Makhdoom insisted, while addressing a dinner reception at the governor house, that he would play a vital role in the formation of this set-up in the province.

In his address, Makhdoom thanked the house for passing resolutions relating to the restoration of the Bahawalpur and South Punjab province.
