KARACHI: A two-month-old child, Sameer Farooq, who had been kidnapped from his residence on January 2, was traced by the Anti-Violent Crime Cell and the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee on Saturday. The police explained that the infant was found from a private hospital in Gulshan-e-Iqbal where he had been admitted due to an illness. The accused individual, Humair, who was arrested in Liaquatabad, was related to the infant, they added. In a telephone call to the victim’s family, the abductors demanded Rs2 million as ransom. SSP Niaz Khosa said that they were still trying to find out how many people were involved in the kidnapping.
