KARACHI: Earlier believed to have fled the country, Shahrukh Jatoi, is still in Pakistan, Express News quoted Federal Investigation Agency (FIA) sources as saying Saturday.
Shahrukh Jatoi, the prime suspect in Shahzeb Khan’s murder had, according to earlier reports, fled to the UAE on December 27.
New evidence however, suggests otherwise.
The documents taken from Shahrukh Jatoi’s father pertaining to his travel have revealed that he is still in Pakistan, the FIA source said.
According to the source, the documents saying he had gone to the UAE were fake.
Raids have been conducted in Karachi and Islamabad but no one has been caught yet, suggesting that the perpetrators might be tipped off.
Shahrukh Jatoi is wanted for allegedly gunning down 20-year-old Shahzeb over a small argument.
Both Shahrukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur are wanted by the police as they are the prime suspects in the case.
The Supreme Court took suo motu notice of the case after the news spread that influential people were creating hurdles in their arrest.
In its first hearing, the police were ordered to arrest the suspects within 24 hours or risk losing their jobs.

@K.A.: You are right every sister and mother is respectfull and every father and son is as well. And we need to support this so that no one else can try to do this to us or any other again. This is Allah's rehmat on us that this issue became so big, even thou the JATOI family is very powerfull.
Time for jatoi to get hanged .....what a nut case pshyco for stupid small argument he killed the poor chap with a gun . What's wrong with Pakistani people ,young people, how can you kill your own fellow human beings over a stupid argument. ........it's the fault of sikandar jatoi that his son shahruk jatoi, murdered an innocent unarmed so young 20 years old shahzeb khan. The gun culture is an American plague .....we pakistanis are not made for this gun culture. We should ask our self is this is the youth we want so crazy .
It's interesting to see the whole entire nation get so involved with the murder of one person, yet forget the tens who die everyday in tribal areas and get merely a sound byte.

My deepest sympathies to the victim's family and friends. It's very unfortunate that justice is only in the reach of the influential though. Perpetuates bias.

Pictures of this late young man in the news have "personalized" the victim. In a city with many such deaths daily, Tribune should publish pictures of all the victims.....so their deaths are not just statistics. Perhaps, Shahzeb's death will start a "revolution" in Karachi against all such murders. Perhaps, seeing their pictures in the papers every day, will soften the hearts of those who carry out or support such atrocities.
The way to clear this up is for the Pakistani public to get a statement from the Dubai/UAE police confirming that he hasn't been through their airports. The idea that any of us would trust Pakistani law enforcement is a joke...we'll take the word of foreigners or the Chief Justice any day!
To me this looks like an attempt by those in power, including most definitely our "democratic" PPP, to confuse the public and divide everybody's efforts so as to weaken the impact. Over time they will release many contradictory stories and rumors to exhaust the public's attention...don't let them fool you and I hope ET does due diligence before rushing to push stories out. This is an critically important issue..at stake is law and order and justice in our society...if Shahrukh Jatoi and Siraj Talpur get away with this because his political backers know how to exhaust the system...it will be a failure on all our parts. Keep in mind that the people behind Shahrukh Jatoi are the same people who have been fighting the Supreme Court on many issues and have already sacrificed one Prime Minister to keep their criminal elite protected. They work together as one crime family. ET...good job bringing this issue up...now please continue doing a good job and be careful about what you publish.

Why Not ask UAE authorities to Check if Jatoi is in Dubai and if there ask interpol to deport him back.
@Z.Khan: correction, you are unlikely to travel outside Pakistan on forged documents, you are more likely to get caught. They may be 'resourceful' but only in Pakistan, this doesn't work in more civilized countries.
Resourceful can always travel on forged or duplicate documents. If there is will there is way. Culprits can be arrested if storng will prevails to have absolute justice for all.
