Medical education: Lahore students get two top positions

A total of 3,086 candidates from 22 affiliated medical colleges sat for the exam which was held in November.

The University of Health Sciences (UHS) has announced the result of the second professional MBBS Annual Examination 2012.

A total of 3,086 candidates from 22 affiliated medical colleges sat for the exam which was held in November. Out of that number, 2,200 passed and 763 candidates failed. The result of 123 candidates will be announced later. The overall pass percentage rate was 74.25. Iqra Arshad, a student from Shalamar Medical and Dental College in Lahore, stood first, securing 862 out of 1,000 marks. Avicenna Medical College (Lahore) student Fatima Khalid scored 854 marks and stood second while Sadaf Faisal Bhopal of Wah Medical College, Wah Cantt was third with 847 marks. The candidates that have failed can submit their admission forms on or before January 22, 2013. Supplementary examinations will start from February 13.
