Korangi creek industrial park: Approvals granted for 5 industrial units

Project is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs3.3 billion.

KARACHI: Federal Secretary GM Rind received on Friday the approvals of five building plans from CEO Cantonment Board Korangi Creek Rana Khawar. The approved industrial units include consumer, food and pharmaceutical, garments/textile, light engineering, packaging and printing. According to a press release, the construction of these industrial units is all set to commence at Korangi Creek Industrial Park, and will contribute Rs40 billion annually to GDP and provide approximately 30,000 direct and 180,000 indirect jobs. The project is being developed at an estimated cost of Rs3.3 billion which will have an investment opportunity of Rs20 billion. The project, launched by National Industrial Parks Development & Management Company, offers entrepreneurs with guaranteed power supply through 48 MW captive power plant.
