KARACHI: A 10kg bomb found near Cheel Chowk in Lyari was defused by bomb disposal squad (BDS) officials, Express News reported on Friday.

SHO Klakot Javed Baloch said the bomb was planted inside a cement block. A heavy contingent of police cordoned off the area, after which the BDS was called in.

The squad managed to defuse the locally manufactured bomb after 40 minutes.

BDS officials confirmed that the bomb contained 10kg explosives, including ball bearings, nails and explosive material.

The detonation wire was planted within the explosive material.

BDS officials, over the past year, have recovered and defused multiple bombs in the city.

Wah !!!!! What an intricate piece of art. How much painstaking labor has gone in making this destructive piece. Those whose job it is to diffuse these bombs, put their lives at stake every day. These are brave heros who remain nameless.
