Tyno syrup case: Hearing of bail pleas adjourned till 18th

The same court is also to hear arguments on the pre-arrest bail plea of the owner of Tyno manufacturer on December 20.

LAHORE: Additional District and Sessions Judge Anjum Raza has adjourned till December 18, on the prosecution’s plea, the hearing of after-arrest bail petitions moved by two medical store owners and a distributor. Fida Hussain, the owner of Bismillah Medical Store, Muhammad Rizwan, the owner of Ali Medical Store, and Abur Raoof, the distributor, are accused of offences in connection with the deaths of 19 people, mostly in Shahdara Town, after consuming Tyno cough syrup in late November. The same court is also to hear arguments on the pre-arrest bail plea of Khalid Saleem, the owner of Tyno manufacturer Recko Pharmaceutical Company Lahore, on December 20. The FIR against the medical store owners, the distributor and the manufacturer was registered on the complaint of Deputy Health Officer Dr Asim under Sections 302 (murder) and 34 (conspiracy) of the Pakistan Penal Code.
