Fashion Police: In desperate need of a stylist

Actor Anushka Sharma was seen at the Matru ki Bijlee ka Mandola music event in India, wearing this unbecoming outfit. She’s trying to pull off a biker chic look, but seems to have fallen off the bike and onto our fashion police radar in the process.  While she looked cute as a journalist (remember those hot pants?!) in her recent stint in Jab Tak Hai Jaan, there is plenty wrong with her look here. Here’s what she could have done better:

Hair

Her hair is limp and lifeless, parted in the middle. We’re getting quite sick of the same old look on Anushka, can she please hire a stylist? A fishtail braid, a bun or a side swept ponytail is sure to spruce up her look and take her from frumpy to fabulous.

Accessories

An oversized men’s wristwatch is fashionable, but the steel watch Anushka has on is just not doing wonders for her look. The solitary necklace hanging in her neck is drab — are those skulls and bones we see in the pendant!? It’s cool when McQueen does it , and dreary when you take a knuckle duster from your younger brother’s closet and wear it in your neck.

Makeup

She has kohl-lined eyes with lots of mascara and a peach blush on that she seems to have matched with her lipstick. Anushka needs to go for the smokey eye, glossy lips look instead of this boring matte shade that is making her look like she got ready in a rush.

Outfit

She’s wearing a grey and white printed vest with a casual loose (boyish?) jacket on top, black skinny jeans and laced up boots. Androgynous fashion is one thing, but looking like a tom-boy when you have a killer body is another.

Shoes

Those boots have to be the epitome of awful. With the variety of sexy boots available in stores, her choice leaves us convinced that Anushka’s sense of style is in its infancy.

Wear it like

Drew Barrymore

Drew attended a book launch in this biker chic apparel. Her look included a Catherine Malandrino black leather jacket, low-rise denim leggings and a black Mulberry clutch. Feathered earrings are very popular in the celebrity world nowadays. Now if Anushka needs some style tips on how to carry the biker chic look, she could pick up some from Drew.

Kirsten Stewart

Actor Kristen Stewart was spotted entering a NYC screening for On the Road. Kristen’s leather dress by A.L.C. is cute. Her jacket is Balenciaga; the Barbara Bui heels are trendy and compliment the look well. Kirsten is not much of a style icon but even she manages to pull of this look well.

Priyanka Chopra

This casual gal was on her way back from the airport, sporting a checked shirt a blue leather jacket, grey boots and faded light blue jeans. Anushka could learn a thing or two from actor Priyanka; you can wear a leather jacket and don’t necessarily have to look like a boy! Priyanka looks great even though she isn’t dressed up for an event.
