KARACHI: Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) chief Altaf Hussain met with Federal Interior Minister Rehman Malik in London on Monday, according to a statement issued by the MQM. The party, however, provided little detail on what the two politicians discussed. The statement said that the two “exchanged views on national and international issues” and Altaf “stressed upon the need for developing effective steps for the restoration of law and order, and for the

welfare of the common people.” Altaf praised Malik’s efforts for “curbing terrorism during the days of Ashura.”
