MUZAFFARABAD: Cross-border fire from Indian troops has killed a man and wounded three other civilians in two Pakistani villages, local officials said Monday.

The shooting was reported along the Line of Control (LoC), the de facto border that separates Indian and Pakistani-administered zones in the Himalayan region of Kashmir.

The nuclear-armed neighbours have observed a ceasefire in Kashmir since November 2003, despite sporadic small-time clashes and accusations of violations from both sides.

"A civilian was killed and three others, two women and one man, were wounded in firing by Indian troops in Madarpur village on the LoC late Sunday," local government official Sardar Khalil Ahmed told AFP.

A house in the Pakistani village of Battal also caught fire after shells exploded and investigators have been sent to assess further damage in the remote mountainous area, he added.

Local police station chief Sardar Farooq confirmed the incident and casualties.

India and Pakistan both claim Kashmir, which has been the cause of two of their three wars since independence from Britain in 1947.

Perhaps those who were killed were unfortunately civilians or they were terrorists trying to cross the border.

It is also possible that Pakistani army has lied.

Don't be surprised, Pakistan army has done wretchedly horrendous things in the past and put the blame on foreigners or has completely lied to its people.

Cases in point :

1971 : from the reasons for unrest to the last broadcast before the fall of Dhaka that Pakistan was winning the war, just a day before the surrender.

Ojhri camp explosion : In a very recent interview of Hamid Gul with Kashif Abbasi, Mr. Gul posed a straight face and said CIA destroyed Ojhri.

Kargil conflict : I guess people remember this, so no explanation needed.

My request to Pakistani army:

You don't have to stop lying to make your country a better place. You don't have to stop lying to please 180 million innocent people. You don't have to stop lying for your own conscience.

But you claim to be muslims, think about the judgement day and stop lying.
