KARACHI: The Karachi Water and Sewerage Board (KWSB) claimed that it has initiated water supply to Baldia Town after it successfully linked a nine-kilometre long pipeline from Northern Bypass to one of its pumping stations on Sunday. The project cost the water utility Rs210 million. KWSB said that Suparco and another company, LERP, contributed 160 million, while MPA Hanif Sheikh had provided the remaining amount from his discretionary fund. The water supply is said to benefit residents of Union Councils 6, 7 and 8, according to a KWSB press release.
