Accountability: Two rapists jailed for life, fined

Police says the victim’s medico-legal report confirmed that she had been raped.

KASUR: An additional district and sessions judge sent two rapists to jail for life and also fined them Rs50,000 each. The verdict was announced on Thursday. The petitioner, Abdul Ghafoor, a resident of Pattoki, had accused Muhammad Afzal and Muhammad Waqas of kidnapping and raping his daughter. He said he had filed a case against the two. Police later recovered the girl from their custody. Police said the victim’s medico-legal report confirmed that she had been raped.
