ISLAMABAD:

Pakistan welcomed the interest expressed by Nigeria to enter into dialogue regarding possible cooperation in the oil and gas sector. While meeting the Ambassador of Nigeria to Pakistan Dauda Danladi, Adviser to the Prime Minister on Petroleum and Natural Resources Dr Asim Hussain said that Pakistan had provided friendly business climate to foreign investors in the oil and gas sector under the Petroleum Policy, 2012.

The Nigerian envoy apprised Hussain that Nigeria was enriched with oil and gas resources and it has an estimated 184 trillion cubic feet of gas reserves.
Danladi, while referring to the recent D-8 conference, emphasised that in the spirit of mutual cooperation direct intervention on government to government basis is required in the oil and gas sector. He also informed that Nigeria had established free zones for International exploration and production companies, which provides beneficial opportunities for Pakistani companies.
