Hezbollah warns Israel of 'thousands of rockets' if Lebanon attacked

BEIRUT: Hezbollah leader Sayyed Hassan Nasrallah warned Israel on Sunday that thousands of rockets would rain down on Tel Aviv and other Israeli cities if Israel attacked Lebanon.

In a speech marking Ashura, Nasrallah said Hezbollah’s response to any attack would dwarf the attacks from Gaza during the eight-day conflict between Israel and the Hamas rulers of the coastal strip.

“Israel, which was shaken by a handful of Fajr-5 rockets during eight days – how would it cope with thousands of rockets which would fall on Tel Aviv and other (cities)… if it attacked Lebanon?” he said in speech, relayed by video-link to tens of thousands of Shia faithful in central Beirut.

Hezbollah, which fought an inconclusive 34-day war with Israel in 2006, flew a drone over Israel last month, further escalating tensions in the region after Israel threatened to bomb the nuclear sites of Hezbollah’s patron Iran.

Nasrallah said the rockets fired into Israel during the Gaza conflict had a range of between 40 to 70 km (25 to 45 miles), while Hezbollah could strike anywhere from Israel’s northern border to its southern Red Sea port of Eilat.

I am wondering under who’s authority is Hezbollah making this statement. It is another terrorist organisation like Hamas. These two organisation have done nothing but disservice to the Muslims of Lebanon and Palestine. While the leaders are prancing around, it is the general masses who are suffering. Till we have men like these leading the Muslims, they will never prosper.

Trying to get some attention? Hezbollah is under the gun — like Iran they have to be concerned with the instability in Syria and the possibility of regime change which might flip Syria from supporter to adversary.

He will go in hiding once Israel’s attack begins and leave innocent people to die. Pakistani leaders are not cowards like him.

Perhaps he has some sort of agreement with builders. Whatever poor people build in few years, he with help of Israel destroys everything and starts all over again.

Shameful comments for Nasrallah! If memory of the people commenting above is faded than I must remind them that Hezbollah had badly defeated Israel in their last war.Its not just weapons but fighting with ardour with Iman which eventually wins. And unlike Hezbollah and Iran most of the Arab world is coward.

we go there to get much needed money and certainly not for their cultural values . India is a country in which people of all religion an faith coexist but certain elements of muslim community under the influence of foreign contries are creating trouble and hence defaming the entire community .
