Sindh govt to establish export processing zones

Sindh Chief Minister's Adviser on Relief Haleem Sheikh says new zone will be established on 500 acres of land.

The Sindh government will soon establish a new Export Processing Zone in Karachi and a modern industrial zone in Sukkur, which will ultimately create job opportunities for youth of the province, Sindh Chief Minister’s Adviser on Relief Haleem Adil Sheikh has said. According to Sheikh, the new zone will be established on 500 acres on land.


After attending an important meeting of the cabinet on the Export Processing Zone in Landhi on Tuesday, Sheikh told media persons that providing jobs to local youth was a legal and constitutional obligation, adding that the government will make it possible that local people must be given priority in jobs.

He said that the federal government wanted to make institutions work in a better way. The adviser said that the government has strengthened national institutions, including Pakistan Steel Mills and Machine Tool Factory through the bailout package.
