KARACHI: The Sindh High Court has ordered an inspection of the demolished parts of the 200-year-old Laxmi Narain Mandir. Kailash Wishram, a Hindu residing on the temple’s premises, had gone to court against the demolition of some portion of the building allegedly at the behest of the Sindh excise and taxation minister, Mukesh Chawla. Some structures of the temple have been again pulled down to pave way for the Port Grand project, despite court order against all construction, addition or alteration to the building causing hindrances to the pilgrims performing their religious rites, particularly access to the seawater.
