KARACHI: Iran redeemed themselves after their loss to Pakistan on the opening day, thrashing Afghanistan 89-17 in their second match at the Asia Kabaddi Cup at the Punjab Stadium in Lahore.

Afghanistan had no answer against the Iranian side as they outshone their more muscular opponents with guile.

The tournament has been reverted to a league format after Indonesia pulled out of the event.

On Thursday night, Pakistan downed Iran 60-41. Afghanistan were on the receiving end on day one as well as they were humbled by India 68-24.

While there were complaints of poor security arrangements and poor lighting on the opening day, the flaw was rectified yesterday.
