Building brands: ‘Digital marketing integral part of businesses’

Syed Masood Hashmi, of Orientm McCann Erickson – advertising agency – was speaking at a seminar ‘Swiss Knife of Social Media’.  At the event organised by Navitus, Hashmi emphasised on the development of social media and eradication of boundaries in today’s world.

“Technology has advanced at such a fast pace that you can virtually tour the world at the comfort of your home and transact any business and build brands,” he said. “Consumers prefer evolution over revolution,” he said.

Even after many years, all digital mediums still coexist proving that marketing was about understanding consumer psyche and consumer insights, he said.

He explained that digital marketing should not be used as an icing on the cake, but should be an integral part of the creative and brand development process.
