Dispute: Man sets himself, family on fire

Doctors treating them say their condition was critical.

FAISALABAD: A man set his wife and daughter on fire on Wednesday in Madina Town. He later also set himself on fire. Doctors treating them said their condition was critical. Police said Shaukat Masih, a resident of Chak 208-RB, quarrelled with his wife, Fauzia. They said when their daughter, Muqaddas, intervened, Masih beat her and her mother. He later put kerosene oil on them and set them on fire before burning himself. Some neighbours rushed to their house on hearing the screams and called an ambulance. All three were taken to Allied Hospital, where doctors treating them said they were all in critical condition.
