Jamiat Ulema-e-Islam-Fazl (JUI-F) Chief Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Friday that he condemns the attack on Malala Yousufzai, but who will protest the deaths caused by drone strikes.
Rehman said that Salala and Malala are made a pretext to eliminate a section of society. He blamed the erroneous policies of the government saying they resulted in deaths of over 40,000 people.
“Why is the attack on Malala being exaggerated so much while nobody talks of the lives of 40,000 Pakistani civilians and military personnel?”
Maulana also questioned the motives behind overplaying the Taliban’s role in the attack on the 14-year-old.
“The government and those who support America’s policies are responsible for the attack on Malala,” the chief exclaimed.
The JUI-F chief termed the shootout an act of coercion which has no precedent in the Pakhtun tradition.

The best defense is an fast offense...maulana and his extremist followers are really responsible for this attack on this innocent girl because of their support for the radicals and it has nothing to do with americas policies...it has to do with extremist mullah policies..
No doubt Malala is one of nation daughters,people verily care and implore to ALLAH for her health but Maulana is also justified for what he has said, that peoples who have been died in many attacks are innocent too.So the delinquent is government who ensue after others.
Mulla ism + Taliban = Terrorism . Root them out , happy Pakistan .
Maulana Fazlur Rehman said on Friday that he condemns the attack on Malala Yousufzai, but who will protest the deaths caused by drone strikes.
The hypocrisy of the mullahs and like minded rightists is evident from the fact that their weak condemnation is always followed by a "BUT". This shows the level of their sincerity, and is meant to divert the attention of the people.
Yesterday, Kamran Shahid's program was about Malala and most of the discussion was hijacked by mullahs and a jounalist-cum-mullah towards drones, Lal Masjid, and US's presence in Afghanistan. Same is the case with Sheikh Rashid in Asma Chaudhry's program.
This is shameful.
@tariq
Tariq...this is shocking!!!! You and jui are giving Taliban an excuse when they are not even asking for one... They said they shot her as she supported education ..something that is integral to Islam. This is nothing nothing to do with drones...
@tariq: please also elaborate how many of these 40,000 died in drone attacks and how many died at the hands of Taliban fighters
It is a shame that Fazal sb is playing politics on this subject as well. MMA and Mr. Fazal have bigger responsibility for ruining Pakistan along with Musharraf.
Its high time we realize that the govt and american policies have nothing to do with malala being attacked. The stimulus behind attacking malala is the medieval, barbaric mindset that deems educated and empowered women to be a threat to its survival. They would have attacked malala regardless of drone attacks etc..!!
Maulana Sb...you could have brought a lot of peace if you were honest and sincere to Pakistan.....hope you realize your national responsibility and be instrumental in bringing harmony to the country.
