KARACHI: Samir Iftikhar defeated America’s Luis Ramirez 6-1, 1-6, 6-4 to clinch the University of New Mexico (UNM) Balloon Fiesta Invitational at the Linda Estee Tennis Center in Alberque, marking his first title of the year. Samir, who is studying in the US on an athletics sponsorship, defeated Daniel Ferndez 6-3, 4-6, 6- 3 in the semi-final. Samir will now participate with the university team in the Inter-collegiate Tennis Association Regional Championship in Nevada on October 19.
