For ransom: Kidnapping boy recovered, suspect killed

Kidnappers had demanded Rs600,000 for his release, which was paid, but, they did not return the child.

Police on Sunday recovered Jahangir, 4, and Rs600,000 ransom paid for his release money from Moka Laka area.


They also killed a man suspected to be the kidnapper.

Rahim Yar Khan District Police Officer Sohail Zafar Chattha told the media that Jahangir had been kidnapped on September 28 from near his house at Khangala village of Khanpur.

He said the kidnappers had demanded Rs600,000 for his release, which were paid.

However, they did not return the child.

Police traced the kidnappers’ cell phones and raided their hideout in Moka Laka. There was an exchange of fire in which one of the kidnappers was killed. His two accomplices managed to escape.
