Youth, Rabi Kisan Festival: Bull race most popular event of the day

Lahnda and Naseer beat Ranjha-Cheena and Parinda-Jugnu.

The bull race was the biggest crowd puller on Saturday at the University of Agriculture Faisalabad where the race was held as part of the Punjab Youth Festival and Rabi Kisan Festival.


Six pairs of bulls took part in the final. The race was among the bulls owned by three men: Nadeem from Gidar Pindi, Samundri, Muzammil of Chak 250 GB Toba Tek Singh and Muhammad Saleem Chak 279 RB Khurd. Lahnda and Naseer outshone Ranjha and Cheena (Muzammil’s bulls) and Saleem’s Parinda and Jugnu.

A total of 72 bulls, 36 teams, took part in the competition. They were from Toba Tek Singh, Faisalabad, Samundri, Pir Mahal and Chichawatni.

Law Minister Rana Sanaullah Khan was the chief guest. He also inaugurated other final competitions along with UAF Vice Chancellor Prof Dr Iqrar Ahmad Khan and som guests from Germany. Later the law minister distributed prizes among the winners.

Besides the bull race, an agricultural exhibition, a fancy birds show and tent pegging competitions pulled in the crowds.
