Police encounter: Two ‘robbers’ shot dead, four flee

The suspects were stopped near Chak 94-WB, but they shot at the police, who shot back.

VEHARI: Police on Monday claimed to have shot dead two robbers. Police said six robbers had entered the house of Haji Nazeer Ahmad in Chak 94-WB at dawn and fled away with cash and gold jewellery. They said the police cordoned off the area after Ahmed informed them. The suspects were stopped near Chak 94-WB, but they shot at the police, who shot back. Two of them died on the spot and four escaped. Police said they found a rifle and a pistol on the deceased. District Police Office Ali Nasir has announced cash prizes for the police team. The deceased have yet to be identified.
