Police performance: Stolen items worth Rs133m recovered in 2012

Hundreds of suspects involved in the theft cases were held and sent to jail, said the spokesperson.

Over Rs133 million in robbed and stolen goods have been recovered by the police in 2012, said a spokesperson. The police also resolved 343 theft cases. Hundreds of suspects involved in the theft cases were held and sent to jail, said the spokesperson.


The city zone police arrested 133 theft suspects in 75 cases where police recovered Rs4,652,000 worth of stolen goods.

The Saddar zone police resolved 136 theft cases and arrested 213 suspects besides recovering stolen property worth Rs97,877,000 from their possession.

The Industrial area police also completed investigations into 57 cases to arrest 93 suspects besides recovering Rs15,739,000 worth of stolen goods from their possession.

The rural zone police resolved 75 cases and arrested 134 suspects and made a recovery of stolen property worth Rs14,968,000 from their custody.

The spokesperson added that Inspector General of Police Islamabad Bani Amin Khan and SSP Islamabad Yaseen Farooq had directed the police officers to ensure safety and security of public property and asked them to enhance efforts to resolve all pending theft and burglary cases on priority basis.
