After playing a rustic cop in comedy show “FIR”, actor Aamir Ali is now playing a neurosurgeon in new show “Honge Juda Na Hum”. He says it is not a cameo and he took the role as he wanted to do something different.

“I couldn’t do something full fledged along with ‘FIR’ but when this came, I thought I will balance both these shows. I wanted to do something different and that’s why I took it up,” Aamir told IANS.

He said initially it was tough to balance two opposite roles, but now he has got the hang of it. “When I started shooting for it, I realised I will have to make an extra effort. But I have learnt how to do it now. I think comedy has improved me as an actor,” he said.

Talking about the contrasting characters in both shows, the 33-year-old said: “In ‘FIR’, I play the role of a desi cop and here in ‘Honge Juda Na Hum’, I play a neurosurgeon, who has studied abroad for a while and is now back in India.

Aamir feels lucky that he has always been offered good roles and he makes sure he is comfortable with the team before he signs any project. “Whatever I get, the roles are good. But at this phase in my career, I prefer working with people who I am comfortable with,” said Aamir, who has done shows like “Kya Dill Mein Hai” and “Bhaskar Bharti”.

His last Bollywood project was I Hate Luv Storys and “since then, I have been busy with TV. For me, films are important. But I want to do quality work. If I get such offers, I will take it up,” said Aamir, who is married to TV actor Sanjeeda Sheikh.

The 33-year-old actor entered the industry as a model and it is after working in a cold drinks campaign that he got noticed and was showered with acting offers. He made his stint in an Indian soap “Kahaani Ghar Ghar Kii” playing the role of Shruti’s second husband Sameer Kaul, and eventually became a part of the Indian small screen. His other acting projects on TV include “Sarabhai vs Sarabhai”, “Woh Rehne Waali Mehlon Ki”, “Kuchh Is Tara” etc.

The versatile artist also participated in the third season of reality dancing show “Nach Baliye” with his wife and won the competition. He also hosted “Nach Baliye 4”.

Aamir Ali made his acting debut with the Bollywood film Yeh Kya Ho Raha Hai, followed by Anjaan and Raakh.
