PHCBA members demanded deportation of US citizens from the country.

Lawyers of the provincial capital were divided on what action to take against the film. Peshawar High Court Bar Association (PHCBA) members demanded deportation of US citizens from the country and that all diplomatic missions of non-Muslim countries be sent back.

An earlier resolution took a less harsh approach and said respect should be extended towards all world religions and no one should be allowed to make mockery of Islam under the banner of “freedom of expression.” However, the resolution was rejected by the lawyer’s community and thus not passed. Lawyers in Peshawar also boycotted court proceedings at PHC and lower courts.
