Abbas to demand compensation for NZ switch
KARACHI: The Pakistan Tennis Federation (PTF) President Dilawar Abbas is hoping to convince the International Tennis Federation (ITF) to allow Pakistan to play its Davis Cup ties in the country.
According to PTF Secretary Rashid Khan, Abbas left for Washington for the ITF annual general meeting with three points on his agenda. “First we want our Davis Cup ties to be played at home but if that’s not possible then we push for a neutral venue of our choice,” Rashid told The Express Tribune.
Pakistan recently lost their Davis Cup clash with New Zealand which was shifted from Pakistan after the Kiwis refused to visit to security concerns. Rashid confirmed that Abbas will also demand compensation for the financial loss that Pakistan faced due to the shifting.
