Let us put an end to the daily coverage of the chief justice’s statements for the benefit of his office.
ISLAMABAD: Nowhere in the world do newspapers post statements coming from the head of judiciary, every other day as their lead story. This regular exposure to media invites ridicule and brings controversy to the office of the chief justice. Justice speaks through the power of pen, not words. Let us put an end to the daily coverage of the chief justice’s statements for the benefit of his office.

Judges are taking full benefit of the divide among the masses and are sure that whatever they do or say at least one big political party shall always be at their back which in itself wants to take political advantage from judiciary. They have become media-savvy. Fully knowing that politics, poetry etc. is not their domain they issue political statements refer to Khalil Jibran and quote from Quran and Hadith to rouse religious sentiments.Even some media houses in order to gain the sympathy of the judiciary to be used to their advantage in future project the ordinary statements of the judges in such a way as if they are not paid public servants but some heavenly creation. The situation can only be rectified if the as per Justice Merkanday Katju of India the Pakistani judges “come to their senses”.
