Don’t eat sheep meat
Meat of sheep, infected with scabby mouth disease, might land up in butcher shops in Karachi, elsewhere in Pakistan.
ISLAMABAD: According to a report, a ship carrying thousands of sheep infected with scabby mouth disease was denied berthing by Bahraini authorities. The ship arrived at Bahrain on August 29 but after the refusal to dock, it began its way back to Australia. However, on the way the ship ended up at Port Qasim in Karachi where the sheep were unloaded and handed over to an importer. Given the lack of monitoring and regulation of the meat that is sold in our markets, it may well be that the meat of these diseased sheep lands in butcher shops in Karachi and elsewhere in Pakistan.
The government needs to ensure that this does not happen and the infected sheep should be destroyed and the importer punished. In any case, people should refrain from eating the meat of sheep in the coming weeks as a precautionary measure.

Well! In a country where we read news that donkey’s meat is sold in market. Meat of dead animals as well as poultry is sold wihtou any fear of being caught, why to worry of scabby mouth sheep.
Still, there are so many black sheep in our society, what to talk about infected or disinfected sheep…..!

Anything can be done in Pakistan as long as you have money to put wheels on files just like the talented man from B-a-h-a-r-i-a. Sick sheep that nobody else wants will be given a clean chit by the Vet and Pakistan Customs. Heroin kingpin like Iman Bheel wil roam around free and assassins from S Africa can walk in thru Immigration at Karachi and walk out after killing as long as they can buy their entry and exit.

I… I hate you. I was eating when I started reading this. Not sheep meat mind you, but scabby mouth disease was enough to get me.
Of course if positions were reversed I’d be laughing hearing it. So, feel free to laugh while I hate you for it. Sigh.Recommend
When I pointed out this fact in The Frontier Post, Mr. Peter, the Australian High Commissioner and Abid Shah, Secretary Live Stock, Sindh, both said that sheep were clean and free from any disease. Now, why these 21,ooo sheep are being culled. I would sugget thant instead of culling these sheep, two sheep should be sent every week to Mr. Abid and Mr. Peter so that they enjoy fresh and healthy meat every week…..!
