Higher education: Education is the foundation of progress says Khosa

Governor appreciated the improvement in academic and research standards at IUB.

Education is the basis of all progress, Governor Sardar Muhammad Latif Khan Khosa said on Thursday.


He was presiding over the 13th session of the Islamia University Bahawalpur (IUB) Senate at the Abbasia Campus.

Khosa said quality of education must be improved at all levels. He said professional and technical education should be accessible to more young people.

He said he was confident that the youth will use their talents to contribute to the progress of society.

He appreciated the improvement in academic and research standards at IUB. He congratulated the IUB Vice Chancellor Dr Muhammad Mukhtar for the improvement in its HEC ranking from 17th to 13th. He said he hoped the IUB would maintain its high standard.

The IUB Senate endorsed all administrative, academic, economic and other decisions the Syndicate placed before it as well as the budget.

Earlier, the 51st Syndicate meeting was presided over by VC Dr Mukhtar. It approved an annual budget of Rs2,220.290 million with a budget deficit of Rs278.050 million.
