Stalker throws acid on woman at gas station

ZAHIR PIR: Acid was thrown on a mother of five children after she refused to have illicit relations with her neighbour who had been harassing her.

According to eye witnesses, Faridabad resident Shafia Bibi was at a petrol station with her son when two men on a motorbike threw acid at her face. Shafia has lost her eyesight and her face has been badly burnt.

According to details,  Faridabad resident and mother of five children Shafia Bibi, wife of Malik Mushtaq Ahmed, was going to the Fatehpur Kamal with her son when their motorbike ran out of fuel. As her son left Shafia in front of the petrol station to head for the filling station, two men on a motorcycle threw acid on her.

Shafia Bibi was rushed to the rural health centre in Zahir Pir but according to the family the attending doctor, Akram Dahir, misbehaved with Shafia, after which she was taken to the Rahim Yar Khan THQ for treatment. Shafia Bibi said that Huzoor Bukhsh and his friend threw acid on her because she refused to meet them, adding that the men had been harassing her.

Society for Women’s Rights members Haji Abdul Rauf, Tariq Mehmood Mughal, Raees Muhammad Tahir Jalil, Attiqa Ayub and Mrs Umer Daraz protested and demanded that RY Khan district police officer (DPO) take action against the accused. Police officials registered a case against the accused after protestors chanted slogans outside the police station.
