ABBOTABAD:

Two men arrested on charges of beating and attempting to abduct the son of a judge were sent to jail on judicial remand on Tuesday. However, the suspects rejected the charges and accused the judge and his son of manhandling and harassing them.

The suspects claimed that the judge and his son of subjecting them to torture and made their nude videos and pictures.

The Mirpur police quoted Adnan Zeb, the son of Jahan Zeb Shinwari, an additional district judge in Mansehra, as saying that he was on way to home when Omar, Sanwal and another man intercepted him on Mansehra Road and beat him.

The suspects also attempted to abduct him for ransom, the complainant told the police.

On the complaint of Zeb, the Mirpur police arrested the three suspects after registering a criminal case against them under sections 365, 342, and 324/34 of the Pakistan Penal Code.

The police obtained one day physical remand of the suspects, who were produced before the court of Judicial Magistrate-III Abbottabad, Abdul Majid Khan. The judge sent them to Mansehra jail on judicial remand.

Meanwhile Sanwal and Omar told mediapersons on the premises of the court with a copy of the Holy Quran in their hands that they were innocent. They claimed that the judge and his son forcibly took them to their home, disrobed them at gunpoint, tortured them, and took pictures and videos of them.

The two suspects said that they had filed an application with the Mirpur police but the police, instead of registering an FIR against the judge and his son, implicated them in a fake case.

They also claimed that the judge tortured them for stopping his son from teasing a girl. They alleged that the judge’s son was blackmailing her.

Meanwhile Advocate Nasir Aslam, the counsel for the suspects also confirmed that his clients have filed a complaint with the Mirpur police against the judge and his son, but he lamented that the police did not register their case.

Despite repeated attempts, the judge was not available for comments.

However, SHO Tahir Iqbal Khan of the Mirpur Police station confirmed that an application from Sanwal and Omar had been received accusing the judge and his son of thrashing and disrobing them and videotaping the incident.

He said that the police were conducting an inquiry into the allegations against the two suspects.
