KARACHI: Interior minister Rehman Malik and the Citizens-Police Liaison Committee  should make concerted  efforts to address the law and order situation in the city. Korangi Association of Trade and Industry’s Nadeem Khan made the demand on Monday, as he spoke of the business community’s concerns about the situation. A committee comprising traders and personnel of law enforcement agencies should be formed as well. Khan was also upset that criminals were regularly being released due to interference of political parties. He also said that businessmen and traders continue to receive bullets wrapped in paper chits, and were regularly being threatened with dire consequences by extortionists if they did not pay them.
